First off, I want to apologize for the lack of content recently. I’ve been and am going to be VERY busy until April 1st. It sucks because I haven’t really been on Soundcloud scavenging for tunes lately either. 😦 HOWEVER, this tune was too good to not post about. uuuUuuUuuuUuUu by Dom$olo is a rendition of Calvin Harris’ This is What You Came For ft. Rihanna. This dreamy, lo-fi, re-fix was a sound made in paradise. The track consists of no elements of the original song and only has Rihanna’s soothing acapella. With Rihanna’s voice and the reworked production of Dom$olo, this track is easily smoother than a baby’s bottom. Redbull Sound Select challenged Mr. Carmack and musical sibling duo, Tennyson, to create 3 tracks in 3 days last week. All three tracks were named after the days they were released (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday). All tunes have the subtle sound of Carmack and the magical melodies of Tennyson. When NSD heard of the news that the three individuals were collaborating to make music, we couldn’t help but think how their sounds would collide. NSD got a tip over the weekend to listen to PartyWave by one of our buddies. Corey McCarley AKA PartyWave was from beautiful San Diego, California but now resides in Hawaii where he surfs and cooks up fresh tunes for listeners like us. His sound is heavy on bass and supplies us with an array of lower frequencies for all you bass junkies. Krill Bill is a prime example of Corey’s style of production. NSD recently followed producer, Edamame, and has been really into his content. We found his Beat Lab Radio mix (No. 92) and instantly fell in love. The Chicago-based producer, Ed Harris, falls into a genre-less category.
“More of an organic experience than emotion-provoking, this beatmaster invites his listeners on a brainwave joyride by creating songs that help you float.”
MVNGCSTL member and vocalist Mark Johns released her version of PartyNextDoor’s Come and See Me ft. Drake about two days ago. The original tune is already a heartbreak stuffed inside a 4 minute track when PND released it. However, when Mark Johns says she was stuck in her feels and releases a cover to this song, it is relatively tear-jerking. Mark’s angelic voice is perfect for any style of sound including sounds of emotion and sadness. NSD only wishes to send positive vibes to Mark Johns. ❤ He’ll come to you eventually…Feel better. Just 24 hours ago, there has been a constant raving about Gallant releasing new material with South Korean artists, Tablo (Epik High) and Eric Nam. NSD caught on with the news and took the chance to listen to their new track and found a new favorite boy-band. Cave Me In (music video above or listen below!) just took the world by surprise with its incredibly smooth and uplifting 90’s R&B vibe. What is more surprising is how Gallant chose to collaborate with these Tablo and Eric! This is where fans of American music and Korean music will hopefully come together to make this song huge in the future! Last week was a rough and pleasant week for Californians like myself. The weekend consisted of heavy rainfall all throughout the weekend and if you are anything like me, you were cooped up in your room either watching the newly released Series of Unfortunate Events series on Netflix, or browsing through Soundcloud in your dimly lit room with the only source of light being a small candle on your nightstand.
